JackpotCity.com online bingo supports the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

It’s good to give something back! That’s exactly why our friends at JackpotCity.com online bingo are now hosting a daily charity event to support the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. Every day at 19h48 GMT they host a charity bingo game and will fund 100% of the pot. The proceeds of ALL ticket sales will then be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

The Cystic Fibrosis Trust was established in 1964 to combat what has become the most common life-threatening inherited disease in the UK. They not only help to provide a better life for Cystic Fibrosis sufferers, but invest £4 million a year into finding a cure for this devastating disease.

So please join us every day at 19h48 GMT and lets fight to give all Cystic Fibrosis sufferers the life they deserve.

See you in the Bingo Hall!

How do playthrough requirements work?

How do playthough requirements workWhen I first started playing bingo online one of the things that confused me the most was when bingo chat hosts and support staff would talk to me about playthrough requirements, or wagering requirements as some bingo halls call them.

I had no idea what these funny sounding words meant, but more often than not I assumed it meant trouble and was a way that the bingo hall was going to try and take more money off me.

After doing a bit of digging around, I finally figured out that it wasn’t all bad, so here is my take on how playthrough requirement work.

When would I need to worry about play though requirements?

Whenever a bingo (or casino site) gives you free money, there are usually play through requirements that go along with it. This means that for every pound you get from them, you need to play a certain amount of bingo before you can withdraw. The generally accepted playthough amount is four times. So, if you get £1 from a bingo hall, you’ll need to play £4 worth of bingo before you can withdraw any winnings. If you get £10 from the bingo hall you’ll need to play £40 worth of bingo before you can withdraw, etc.

This is so that players don’t just take the free bingo money and run, which would of course leave the bingo hall very broke which would lead to them going out of business and we’d have nowhere to play bingo!

The mistake that lots of players make (and one which I made too) is thinking that they need to deposit four times before they can withdraw, which is not the case. Once you have the free money from the bingo hall, all you need to do is play to meet the requirements and you can withdraw your winnings.

Well, I hope that this has helped and that the bingo world is now a little simpler :)

Till next time, keep well and gl in the bingo hall

£36, 3 million Bingo tax rebate!

It seems that the offline bingo industry has received some good news… Well, good news for some at least.

The gaurdian.co.uk reports that bingo and casino company Rank Group is set to receive a £36, 3 million tax rebate from the UK’s VAT and Duties Tribunal. Unfortunately it will only be paid out after an appeal.

Now in my books (and most people’s for that matter) £36, 3 million is a GOOD thing and I’m pleased that at least some of the offline bingo halls have been given a bit of a break. It’s been a long, unpleasant slog for them since the change in the smoking laws.

Cheers for now

Justin

PS. Have a great bank holiday weekend!

Massive £50,000 Bingo win was a mistake!

I’m sure by now you’ve already heard about the software glitch in Foxy Bingo’s online game that netted a lucky player £50,000. Well, kudos to Foxy Bingo for honouring the win and paying the lucky winner! It’s good to see that there are other online bingo and casino operators like JackpotCity.com that put their players first.

Well done Foxy Bingo, you did the online casino and bingo industry proud with the way you handled this.

Cheers for now.

Sisters fight over £50,000 bingo win!

According to this article on the BBC news site, three sisters Linda Kenny, 53, Doreen Thomas, 57 and Edna Sexton, 59 are set to meet in court over an argument about a £50,000 bingo jackpot payout. Apparently Mrs Kenny and Mrs Thomas are suing Mrs Sexton for £16,666, plus interest, because they claim their sister reneged on an oral agreement they reached in 2005.

A £50,000 bingo bonus is a lot of money, but is it worth this? I have a brother who is an absolute killer at Blackjack, he loves to play in both online and offline casinos, and has won (and sometimes lost) a fortune. I’ve never expected to reap the benefit, even when I’ve been their when he won. If he ever did offer me money and later was not able to fulfil that promise I would never dream about taking him to court and in the same way he would not expect me to cover some of his costs if he lost…

Now, as I’ve mentioned in my last post, gambling (be it casino, bingo or betting on a sport) is primarily for entertainment and the winnings, although wonderful, are an added bonus. Family is more important and I for one hope these sisters work it all out amicably. Life is too short people! Enjoy your winnings yes, but enjoy your family more.

Excuse me for a second please

Remember those things that I was supposed to post a while back when I kept on getting distracted? Well, I think that today is the day that I need to post them.

The short version of how this post came about goes a little like this: My boss asked me to tell him why I thought that JackpotCity.com online bingo was better than the other bingo sites out there, so here goes.
Why is Jackpotcity.com Online Bingo better?

• We give away up to £10 000 every day.

• We give away up to £300 000 every month.

• Our Abso-Blingo-Lutely jackpot is seeded (starts) at £10 000 and has been won twice at £22 000 and at £90 000 since we’ve launched (see - more jackpots more often!)
• Progressive Jackpots are linked into a large network increasing the jackpot amount very rapidly.
• We have our very own Hundreds and Thousands jackpot which can be won in 48 calls. (exclusive to JackpotCity.com Online Bingo and won 6 times in the last 4 weeks!)

Other reasons we think you like us

• Spiffy welcome bonus - all new roomies get £10 free once their first deposit is made
• Up close and personal with the Bingo Managers at lunch time every day

• Experienced chat hosts in the bingo hall every day

Instant play where no download is required
• The games are inexpensive, running at an average of 25 pence a card
• Cards start at 0.05 pence per card (1p cards and free cards also coming soon!)
• Three jackpot winners this weekend alone (more jackpots more often)
• We are your ‘local’ bingo hall

He still hasn’t gotten back to me on whether or not these are good enough reasons, but i think that they are. What do you think? Drop a comment and let us know :)

Coin it

I just so happened to browsing around on the Royal Mint website when i stumbled upon the brand new designs for British coins (ok not really - i found this somewhere else).

New British coins revealed

Regardless of my source, these are some very nifty designs and if we took coins at JackpotCity.com bingo, we’d defo take these any day :) Here’s what the mint had to say about them:

“The new designs have been chosen via an open competition which was widely publicised in the national media in August 2005 and attracted 4,000 entries. The winning designer is 26-year-old Matthew Dent, originally from Bangor who now lives and works in London as a graphic designer.

After exploring a number of different options, Dent finally developed the heraldic theme, taking the greatest heraldic device ever used on coinage - the Royal Arms.

The new designs will enter circulation gradually throughout the year. I The current coin designs will remain in circulation and as legal tender for the foreseeable future”
I can see my little cousins playing with coin puzzles for hours…

Thought you might find it interesting :)

6 down 4 to go for the Hundreds and Thousands jackpot

Today I was going to write to you all about the plans we have for April, but something else much more fun made its way to my desk…The Hundreds and Thousands Jackpot has been won again! Just to prove that this is the place with more jackpots, more often, we’ve paid out the H&T jackpot 6 times in the last two weeks! But that’s not the really great part - the H&T has paid out three times to the same roomie! That’s right - twizzle99 has walked off with £750 in prize money, over and above her full house winnings!

The H&T is currently paying out £250 per win, but this is limited to he first ten roomies who win! We’re 6 down, so there are only 4 more ber bonuses to win! Once all 10 bonuses have been won, the Hundred nd Thousands will revert to its normal £100 payout (which still isn’t bad if you ask me!) Don’t fret tho - we’ve got plenty of tricks up our leeves, all of which will be revealed in the next few weeks.  For your shot at the bonus, join us in the bingo hall today at lunchime (1pm) and you could also double your winnings as TheBingoManager and TheCityBingoGuy go crazy with giveaways!

See you there,

,

P.S - I will write about all the interesting things happening a bit later, promise ;)

P.S.S - As I was writing this, there were only 5 winners, but xluckymummyxx won the prize at 12:54, so i had to go up and change my igures before I sent this :)

Tickets please

Free is one of my favourite words ever. Fat free yoghurt, tax free prizes, lead free fuel, cfc free fridges (both invented by the same guy oddly enough - Thomas Midgley Jr) - the list goes on. I really like free. And I figure that most other people do to. In some instances, I’d go as far saying that the word free is good for your health.

I smile whenever I get something for free. Smiling releases endorphins. Endorphins are good for you, so free is good for you.
Where am I going with this? Well, I thought that I’d let you know that we’re working feverishly to get you free bingo tickets here at JackpotCity.com online bingo.

The plan is to have a certain time every day (or hour, we’re not sure yet) where we dish out free tickets to all the roomies in the bingo hall at the time. So you’d come in, sit down and get some free tickets :) We like the sound of that. We’d also be able to give away free tickets as prizes in competitions and chat games (which means that we could run more competitions).

It’s still some way off in the distance, but I thought that I’d put it out there in the mean time and see if anyone can think of any other cool things that we could do with free tickets (if you do, drop us a comment). I’ll keep on posting updates here, and hopefully you’ll be playing for free soon :)
Till next time, gl in the bingo hall

P.S - if you still haven’t claimed your £10 free (there’s that word again, lol) then you can get your mits on it by emailing support and they’ll get it sorted quick as a flash

Colours make us happy

Hello everyone :)

I hope that everyone had a fun, safe weekend that those of you who were in the snow built some cool snowmen (excuse the pun). As some of you may know, we ran a wee competition last week here at JackpotCity.com online bingo, where we gave away £10 on the spot to the first 10 roomies to email us with their favourite colour. Well, the response was amazing and within 3 minutes we had almost 100 emails! I’ve added up all the emails and it looks like Blue is the favourite colour here at JackpotCity.com online bingo with Red and Purple close behind.

Favourite colours competion results

Congratulations to our 10 winners who each received £10 on Thursday:

  • luckylisa7
  • wendystar
  • julianna29
  • alyhyena
  • yorkshiremum799
  • cazy28
  • teegs5
  • suedawn
  • simpkay
  • bazilla

The weekend was jam packed with winners at www.jackpotcitybingo.com with the £250 Hundreds and Thousands jackpot being won THREE times, and here’s the really crazy part - it was won twice by the same person!

Well done to bigtimeloser33 and twizzle99 for winning. Extra WD to twizzle who won it twice!

Bingo News - Cleaner Scoops World’s Biggest Bingo Win

I was having a read on Sky when I saw this article

A cleaner has scooped what is thought to be the world’s biggest ever bingo win - and is splitting the £1.2m prize with her neighbour. Soraya Lowell, 38, from Hamilton in Lanarkshire won the National Bingo Game and its Platinum Jackpot on Sunday night, netting £1,167,795.The mother-of-four has decided to give half of her winnings to Agnes O’Neill, 68, her neighbour and bingo companion who was with her when she hit the jackpot.Mrs Lowell said: “We always share whatever either of us wins and this time will be no different.”
Mrs O’ Neill added: “I have had a rough time the last three years - I have been very ill and Soraya has cared for me which meant my husband did not have to retire early.”She has been wonderful to me. What she has done for me is absolutely something else.”

(…) Despite her win, Mrs Lowell has vowed to return to work.

She said: “It just won’t sink in yet. I haven’t slept at all, but I will be back at work as usual. I clean offices until 1.30am and I don’t intend to give up my job.”

What would you do with a win that big? Drop us a comment and let us know!

Well, that’s all for now - I’ll be back here soon!

Till next time, gl in the bingo hall!
