Chinese Anyone?

According to the Macau Daily Times, China is on the verge of legalising regulated online gambling in China. This means that billions more casino fans might finally get a chance to enjoy a casino service that many now take for granted. I personally think that the demand by players in the East will be huge, and if regulated correctly could lead to the perfect replacement for players lost when legislation in the USA changed.

Peking is the only city I’ve ever seen where they paint (!)the grass in public gardens green every morning … and Asia is known for copying good ideas developped somewhere else in the world. would not be astonishing if they get online gambling legalized and enjoy resulting profits + + +

  6. 6 Administrator says:

Just think that every five people on the planet lives in China. Possibilities are endless for any kind of market.
In fact, last year more Chinese people were online than American!
The first two online casino operators to put their feet in China are Bodog and Galaxy Entertainment, pioneers in the land of promise! or profit? :)

  16. 16 justin says:

Yes, but are they regulated casinos? Not yet! It’s still very illegal to gambel online in China, but it will change I’m sure.

  17. 17 bingogurl says:

China is going to LOVE bingo, and why the hell not? we all do!!!

After the US gambling crumble, operators shifted to Europe to ‘colonize’ the Europeans. Soon they realized that the market is small and its segmented in language, currency, countries. Moving to China will be more difficult, its a complete different civilization, way different mindset from the Western World. Besides the language and the currency, what if Chinese dont like slots or poker, but they want to play traditional chinese games they are playing for hundreds of years? what if Tomb Raider means nothing to them, but a Wushu game is more there style? New Year is different, Easter, St. Patrick are non-existent for them. I think before any casino operator steps in the game to conquer China’s online gambling, they really have to think what weaponry they take with in their arsenal. One thing chinese people are addicted to is their cellphone. I can see that the first casino operator launching mobile gaming in China will have a serious lead compared to the rest of the competitors.

No online casinos are currently legal in China, but this should change in the future. I think I’ll do an article about this in the City Times very soon.

I’ll keep you all updated with any and all changes.

  22. 22 bingogurl says:

thanks justin, can’t wait to find out more about it

  23. 23 kennyrogers says:

Gambler: I agree that China is quite a different culture, but on the other hand, in our globalised, CNN and McDonalds - saturated world, there could be millions still willing to take a gamble on blackjack or tomb raider

  24. 24 justin says:

Tomb Raider is a global brand! That includes China! Some of the best game players in the world come from China anyway.

  25. 25 smilinflyboy says:

Anyone know when the World Premiere of the new Tomb Raider movie will be?

  26. 26 justin says:

The next Tomb Raider movie has not yet been confirmed. IMDB has no info on it, but some of the fan sites have “news” about it.

  27. 27 smilinflyboy says:
