Playing Vegas

I see that the 21 movie had its premiere in New York today. I must say, I can’t wait for that movie to open worldwide!

For those of you who don’t know, or have been in casino limbo, it’s the true story of a group of MIT students who took Vegas for millions.

It’s apparently a very good portrayal of land based casinos in the US and a legendary story within the casino industry. 21 stars Kate Bosworth, Laurence Fishburne, Kevin Spacy and Jim Sturgess.

You can view the trailer here.

I’ll give you a full review once I’ve seen this little gem of a movie, so watch this space.

I’m currently reading the book “Bringing down the House” which this movie is based on. Quite excited to see the movie version.

Yes, I read this book a few months ago and it was excellent. I’m sure the movie will have a little “Hollywood interpretation” to it, but even if its half as good as the book it’ll be ace!

The MIT card counters are famous (infamous?), I’ve watched a documentary on them. I think in their best weekend, they netted over $400,000 playing Blackjack*. What a weekend that must have been! they must have become victims of their own success though. I wonder if guys at MIT still try?

    *21 = Blackjack.
