Lady Luck smiles down on a female patron at Bally’s Casino in Atlantic City! But not in the way you think…

I’ve heard of striking it lucky in a casino, but an article I just read on the FOXNews.com website most certainly gives this a completely new meaning.

Apparently a woman in a motorised wheelchair slammed into a hotel elevator (lift), which forced the doors open, and then fell 30 feet down the lift shaft… But she still survived! Now in my books this is a very, very lucky woman indeed to survive a fall like that. I just hope her injuries are not to severe and that she recovers soon. Our thoughts are with her and her family at this time.

Cheers for now

Defunct Playboy casino chips turn up on eBay!

20 years ago the Playboy casino in Atlantic City closed its doors, but it seems although it is long gone it is defiantly not forgotten. Chips from the failed casino have been showing up on eBay in ever increasing numbers thanks to a find on a construction site in Hernando, Mississippi.

Apparently the coins were sent to Green Duck Manufacturing to be destroyed, but what happened to them after they arrived in Mississippi is a mystery.  Green Duck eventually closed and a community centre went up in its place.

State Police with the Division of Gaming Enforcement confirmed they know about the find, but “have not initiated an investigation at this point”.

Until the mystery is solved, the sales will continue. And so will the mourning for casino chip collectors who have been devastated by the flooding of the market by what was once a very rare casino chip.

The Trump is smoking mad!

Donald Trump has served as a spokesman in national public service announcements to end smoking, but it seems when it comes to business he’s all for it.

He’s pointed out that the new ordinance that comes into effect in Atlantic City on 15 October this year will cause casino players to flee Atlantic City for markets that have no smoking restrictions. He also said that the changes in the current 75% – 25% floor space law will result in Atlantic City having a “huge competitive disadvantage” over other gambling markets. He also warned that New Jersey could lose millions of Dollars in gambling tax revenue.

Well now, I was a smoker for 17 years (it’s been only 18 days and 12 hours since I gave up) but I’ve accepted that the times are changing and if you can’t beat the non smoking brigade, you may-as-well join them. It’s difficult I know, but in Europe this is no longer even an argument – non smoking in public is a fact.

So this leads to a question I’ve touched on before – Where do casino players who like to smoke go to play casino games? The answer is once again very simple, stay at home! Online casinos such as JackeptCity.com offer all the same excitement as their land based cousins and in many instances have waaaay more games due to the fact that online casinos don’t have a space constraint. They also have just as good (and in some cases even better) payout odds!

So let’s put that together then: same excitement, more games and better odds… PLUS! You can smoke! I know where I’m putting my money people, and I’m not even smoking anymore.
