Love them or hate them, online casinos are here to stay!

The split between casino lovers and casino haters is most probably an even one, but when it comes to online casinos… Maybe not so much! There is still a slight stigma attached to playing at an online casino that I have never understood. As long as you ALWAYS play at a licensed casino such as JackpotCity.com you should NEVER have a problem.

Licensed casinos (especially those licensed in Gibraltar) have very strict guidelines that they must follow to maintain their licensed casino status. These guidelines are strictly enforced and with the aid of independent watchdog organisations such as eCOGRA and trustworthy casino software providers such as Microgaming, safe and secure online gaming is ALWAYS ensured.

Hope you all have a great weekend and I’ll be seeing you in the software!

Is it right for a casino to do this?

I’m a casino supporter, a 100% lover of the game! But this little gem of an article from pressofAtlanticCity.com made me sit back and say “what the hell do land based casinos think they are doing?” To quote from the article, “The Atlantic City Hilton Casino Resort is beckoning people to “sell your gold for cash” in an event that is open to the public but designed to get more gamblers in the door.”

Here at JackpotCity.com online casino we have agreed to eCOGRA’s Responsible Casino requirements and would never promote such behaviour in our players. Gambling is a form of entertainment and should always be viewed as such. We feel so strongly about it in fact that we even have a player self-exclusion facility that enables players to choose from the following 2 options:
A minimum seven (7) day cooling off period or a minimum six (6) month self-exclusion period.
If you are worried about your gaming behaviour, please take our self-assessment test or check out the responsible gambling council website.

Remember, play it safe and play for fun!

Playing It Safe!

Our casino software and games provider, Microgaming, has announced that it has terminated its gambling software licence with Australia-based Tusk Investment Corporation Ltd. Microgaming stated that the termination “follows the Tusk announcement that it was planning to go into liquidation after the suspension of its Safe and fair accreditation by eCOGRA”.

WOW! Although not nice for the players at any of the casinos involved, this is further proof that Microgaming and eCOGRA are doing what’s best for you the players.

We’ll be posting more on this in the JackpotCity.com City Times on Monday 31 March 2008.
