High School pupil accused of using school computer to gamble online

We’ve had a query from a worried school principle in the US (California to be exact) regarding a High School pupil who was apparently caught gambling online while at school. It must be added at this point that the apparent casino was NOT JackpotCity.com Online Casino, but one of our competitors. The principle however used to be one of our regular US customers before the UIGEA (Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act) was introduced and deemed it prudent to contact an online casino he knew he could trust.

Our safety and security department had this to say:

“It is impossible that any US based player could login and open an account at a reputable online casino due to the legal implications of doing business in America. And even if it was possible, the age related safety and security protocols used by all top online casinos would block the player immediately.”

Our underage gambling policy also recommends the following tips for parents, teachers and persons of authority:

• Do not leave your computer unattended when your casino software is running and you are logged in.
• Password-protect your casino programs
• Do not allow persons under 18 to participate in any gambling activity.
• Keep your Casino account number and credit card(s) out of the reach of children.
• Do not save passwords onto your computer. Write them down instead.
• Limit the amount of time your children spend online and make use of software to prevent your children from accessing inappropriate material.

UIGEA Gambling Bill Update

Once again the UIGEA (Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act) has been put on the backburner by the US Congress according to a recent online casino report. However, predictions are that it will still be debated sometime in 2010.

The reasons for this delay cannot be faulted, because the US Government is busy combating global recession and healthcare issues, but the hope of a regulated online casino industry in the US must once again wait another few months.

Online Casino Blog is changing!

I admit I have been decidedly lax over the past few months when it comes to posting, but there have been reasons for this… We’re improving our communications systems so as to make our casino brands (JackpotCity.com Online Casino, Gaming Club Online Casino, River Belle Online Casino and Lucky Nugget Online Casino) even better for you.

Keep a lookout for these changes, because they’re coming SOON!

Cheers for now…

Online Casino I’ve not forgotten you!

I’ve been very lax over the past few months with my blogging, but it’s not because I’ve forgotten about Online Casino! On the contrary, I’ve just been so busy with the launch of our new Online Poker site (Cool Hand Online Poker) and preparing the final stages to some very exciting changes here at JackpotCity.com that I’ve just not had the time to blog. That though is now a thing of the past (for now) and I’m going to throw myself back into this casino blog with gusto!

I thank you loyal readers for still sticking around even though there has been little or no action here. I promise, there is still plenty more to come

Cheers

Justin

JackpotCity.com online casino is still better than Vegas!

A huge statement yes, but after this last trip to Vegas (hence the lack of posts recently) I’m convinced that online casino is the way to go! It’s not that I had a bad trip, hell I’ll always love Vegas, but I missed the pure selection of games (over 350 and counting) that JackpotCity.com has to offer. Games like American and European Roulette, Baccarat, Slots and even Video Poker.

Yes, yes, you get many of these games in Vegas, but the major difference is you don’t have to wait for a game online. You want to play it, you play it. Not like in Vegas where you sometimes (read most times) have to wait for that specific table or machine.

Ok changing the subject a bit, but one thing I must say I did enjoy was looking for things in Vegas that I have recently blogged about. Things like the $10,000 touch screen tables at Harrah’s and the new Trump Hotel. I even kept an eye out on how full the casinos are to see if they look like casino revenue is down, see here. It might be, but the casinos still look damn busy to me.

Well, it’s good to be back I must say, and I promise I’ll be posting every day again until my next trip over the pond!

Cheers for now and see you in the software!

Justin

Online multiplayer slots tournaments are so damn cool!

Land based casinos have been doing it for ages, but now I’m pleased to see it’s the online casinos chance to grab the headlines and bring multiplayer online slots tournaments to the people.

So how exactly do online multiplayer slots games work? Well, you’ll first have to follow these easy steps before you can start playing:

1. If you don’t already have your free JackpotCity.com online casino software then you’ll need to download it.
2. Then once in the games lobby you need to click on the tournament section.
3. Lastly, choose which type of multiplayer online slots tournament you’d like to play (see below for more)

When you enter the multiplayer software for the first time you’ll see a range of multiplayer casino game tournaments to choose from, some are scheduled and others are “sit n go” tournaments. All you need to do is select which game to play, create a user alias and after a short wait your multiplayer game will be ready to play. For more on the differences between scheduled and sit n’ go tournaments please click here.

I personally suggest that you start off with one of our free slots tournaments so that you can get the hang of how the structure works without having to wager any money. You’ll also be able to win extra cash or an entry into even bigger cash tournaments by placing in the top 30 of the free tournaments.

You’re now ready to experience what can only be described as the biggest thing to hit the online casino world since… Well since the beginning of online casinos themselves!

See you in the software!

Justin

PS! Look out for online multiplayer Blackjack, it’ll be in your software soon!

Thunderstruck Video Slot still rocks!

You don’t get much better than our Norse Mythology based Thunderstruck video slot! In fact, one of our in house design gurus, Stevo, has sketched a few awesome pictures of the Thunderstruck title character Thor that I just had to share.

Even though this game has been around for a few years, it’s still one of my favourites and in my humble opinion has not dated one little bit. Its 150,000 jackpot is also damn generous and the Wild & Multiplier symbols features, Scatter symbols feature, Free Spins with Multiplier feature and its Gamble feature all help to enhance top video slot play.

Hope you enjoy the pictures and if you’ve not played this awesome game in a while, then come and join me in the Multiplayer Casino in the software for a quick game of Thunderstruck.
