Casino mogul hosts war vets in Vegas.

According to the Associated Press (AP) and WAVY TV 10 in the US Sheldon Adelson, the casino mogul who runs the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, has taken a few dozen wounded soldiers on an all expenses paid trip to Vegas. One of the wounded soldiers even decided to make it his wedding weekend.

Now this is giving back! It shows the responsible, compassionate side of casino gambling that many people don’t ever see.
You Mr Adelson committed a compassionate and unselfish act by doing this and I for one salute you.

Regards

Donald Trump still wants to sell his casinos.

According to an article in USA Today the 3 casinos owned by Trump Entertainment Resorts are still up for sale. Chief Executive Officer Mark Juliano is also quoted as saying that the casino and gambling company are “looking at strategic alternatives” and would “sell if a good deal materialises”. This is after two potential deals to buy all or part of the company fell through last year.

Now why would you do that now Mr Trump? Smoking ban? Economic downturn? Or is it true what I’ve been hearing in certain circles that online casinos are starting to take major revenue away from land based casinos due to rising fuel prices and travelling costs? Come on Mr Trump, stay with us for the long haul! Your casinos are some of the best in the world and things will change. Hell, even if they don’t you’re more than welcome to come and join us here at JackpotCity.com online casino. We’d be more than glad to have you.

Hope you all have a great weekend people, I’ll be seeing you in the software…

Playing Vegas

I see that the 21 movie had its premiere in New York today. I must say, I can’t wait for that movie to open worldwide!

For those of you who don’t know, or have been in casino limbo, it’s the true story of a group of MIT students who took Vegas for millions.

It’s apparently a very good portrayal of land based casinos in the US and a legendary story within the casino industry. 21 stars Kate Bosworth, Laurence Fishburne, Kevin Spacy and Jim Sturgess.

You can view the trailer here.

I’ll give you a full review once I’ve seen this little gem of a movie, so watch this space.
